Beschreibung: | We currently have an open position (100%) with start date July 2020 for a Ph.D student for the preclinical biological evaluation of novel radioactive labelled tumor-targeting molecules within the institute’s program lines Applied Translational Research and Imaging Biomarkers. The candidate will work in a stimulating, interdisciplinary environment (tumor biology, pathology, nuclear medicine, chemistry, pharmacology and health economics) at the General Hospital of Vienna and the Medical University Vienna. Desired Skills and Experience • Background in preclinical research including experiments with cells and animals (mice). • Good communication skills in English and German • Experience in experiments with radioactive labelled compounds would be advantageous |
Qualifizierung: | The successful candidate has a background in biological sciences or equivalent (e.g., Master degree in pharmacy, biology, or related fields) and a strong interest in preclinical research (cell experiments, imaging with small animal SPECT/CT and PET/CT). Qualification such as FELASA courses (Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations) will be offered. Participation and support in preparatory work such as bioconjugation chemistry and radiolabelling experiments is expected. |

Zusätzliche Information: | The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics (https://www.applied-diagnostics.at) in Vienna, Austria, follows a new dual biomarker concept for tumor diagnosis. The focus of the institute lies on the development of non-invasive diagnostic methods combining molecular epigenetic and genetic signatures with molecular imaging biomarkers for PET and SPECT analysis. The combination of these two methods will allow for improved functional, spatial and temporal assessment of tumor load and molecular tumor characterization. The position is available for 3-4 years. |
Bewerbungsadresse: | Application documents (cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, and contact data of 2-3 references) should be sent to Prof. Dr. Markus Mitterhauser: markus.mitterhauser@meduniwien.ac.at |
