Beschreibung: | Duties and responsibilities The successful candidate will become a part of an interdisciplinary research group working in the field of Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry and PET imaging. The position requires an ambitious, self-motivated and proactive individual, to focus on the development of novel radiosynthesis methodology and radiotracer development for PET imaging of the brain. The principle investigator in Oslo is Associate Prof. Patrick Riss (Patrick.Riss@kjemi.uio.no). The project includes the design and synthesis of radiotracer candidates, implementation of labelling strategies for established and new PET radiotracers, biological characterisation and validation of radiotracers. Knowledge of reaction optimisation, purification, quality control procedures (radioTLC, radioHPLC), radiochemical process automation and radiosynthesis equipment of particular relevance to PET is desireable. A history of work with animal models, FELASA certification or equivalent qualifications are beneficial for the post holder. |
Qualifizierung: | Qualifications Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with motivation, skills and qualifications, and expected to be in the upper segment of their field with respect to academic credentials. Applicants must have a: ¿ PhD in Radiochemistry or Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree, with experience in PET radiochemistry and radiotracer synthesis. ¿ Working experience with short-lived radionuclides and covalent labelling procedures. ¿ Excellent communication skills and good command of English in both, oral and written form are a prerequisite. ¿ Candidates with an excellent command of a Scandinavian language may be given priority. ¿ Ability and commitment to work flexibly, under pressure and to deadlines. ¿ Ability to organise work-flows to meet logistic requirements. ¿ Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary teams involving biologists, chemists, clinicians and physicists. ¿ Ability to acquire a working knowledge of areas outside of the current field of expertise. ¿ Previous experience in the development and application of PET radiotracers for neuroimaging. ¿ Ability to work according to health and safety guidelines for radiochemistry laboratories.
