Beschreibung: | Your challenge As a Head of clinical PET tracer production your main responsibility is to manage and maintain a reliable GMP production process at a high quality level. Your main tasks are: Develop GMP compliant production and quality control methods for new clinical radiopharmaceuticals; Supervise technicians in GMP compliant manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals; Develop suitable training programs for the technicians; Develop strategies for highly reliable productions. |
Qualifizierung: | Your profile We are searching for a head of clinical PET tracer production with the following expertise: A PhD in organic chemistry, radiochemistry or radiopharmaceutical sciences; Experience with GMP compliant production of radiopharmaceuticals; Experience in radiopharmaceutical chemistry, preferably at least 5 years at a PhD level; Excellent communication skills; Excellent supervisory skills. |
Vergütung in EUR: | Salary Scale 11: 3808 tot 5226 euro gross when employed full-time (depending on qualifications and experience). |

Zusätzliche Information: | Your work environment The department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine of the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc has a strong focus on the development of novel Positron Emission Tomography applications and technology. An important step forward is the establishment of the brand new Amsterdam UMC Imaging Center in 2019, where all imaging modalities will come together and multidisciplinary teams consisting of physicians, biologists, physicists and chemists will work closely together at a single unique location. The radiopharmaceutical chemistry group of the department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, headed by prof. Bert Windhorst, is an important component of the overall research activities. It is a multidisciplinary group where PET tracers are developed and manufactured for early disease detection and response monitoring, and where novel therapeutic drugs are radiolabeled for characterization of their in vivo performance and for drug and patient selection with PET cameras. This is carried out in close collaboration with auxiliary disciplines like biology and pharmacology. Research projects are financed by national and EU grants, SMEs and large international pharmaceutical industries. A collaboration exists with Cyclotron BV, also localized within the Imaging Center, for making PET tracers available for other Dutch hospitals. The group currently comprises 4 staff biochemists/chemists, 3 post-docs, 8 PhD students, 5 engineers, 3 radiation protection staff and 25 research technicians, has a state-of-the-art lab with high-end equipment for research, rodent PET/CT and PET/MR scanners and optical imaging, and a GMP compliant hotlabs with 12 hotcels for manufacturing radiopharmaceuticals. We offer: A permanent position. After a 1 year labor contract which will be evaluated at 10 months. If the evaluation is positive, the labor contract will be changed into a permanent contract.
